Solve the
Engineering problem
The engineers and planning people usually need access to the older
plans and engineering drawing. Most of which were captured onto
aperture cards (35mm frame within an old style punch-card) or
microfiche. The engineers print these drawings or plans onto the
original paper size from A3 to A0. This enables them to read the finer
detail and the fine text on the drawing or plan. These old
plans/drawings become the foundation for any future work and
development or an inspection of an existing building.
Without easy access to this information it is extremely difficult for
the engineers and town planners to function efficiently.
Why not, digitise these aperture cards
and microfiche for importing into your Electronic Document Management
System for easier retrieval and management. The original microfilm can be stored for long term preservation of
the original information.

Kodak microfilm reader/scanner
Now there is way to upgrade your old microfilm reader/printer system to
a new digital version that enables you to scan on demand.
Why just print the document from the aperture card or microfiche why
not scan it
and print
it in one operation. Saves time and money, the scanned image
could be imported into your EDRMS system for retrieval at anytime.

Winners to
June Trivia
We are all interested in economical ways in which we can mitigate the
risks of document management and storage. There was a very good
article written in "Keeping Good Companies" journal in February 2006
about managing documents and risk.
"In the article there is a topic 'Paper-based or digital?' what was the
saving grace of the HIH audit firm?
What was the Act that the article referenced when discussing 'document
authenticity'?"
Answer: The HIH audit firm was lucky
to be able to source an obsolete computer system to be able to read the
archived digital files.
The 'document authenticity"
references the Commonwealth Electronic Transactions Act 1999 (s 12(2)).

A Micro Bit
of Trivia
We have all heard, read or watched the "Davinci Code". There is
another book by Ehrman called "Lost Christianities".
When was the book first published and what
were the documents of evidence that Ehrman based this novel? Which
document is a forgery?
(Hint: This book is worthy of a read to
discover the basis of our current beliefs)
The first five correct answers will win a box of delicious Lindt
chocolates. Send you answer to gosinfoATgosmicro.com.au
